Born in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, Michaël graduated the Rietveld Academy with a Bachelor in Fine Arts.
He studied at the Escuela Internacional de Cine y Television de Cuba where he made several documentaries.

Michael works as a filmmaker and an autonomous artist, screening at international markets and exhibitions.
Michael’s body of work combines genuine imagery with personal realism, incidentally elevating his films with a surreal touch.

He recently lived in Asia to work on research for his upcoming feature film 'Mandai River' which now has a finished script. The project was selected for development by l'atelier at the Cannes film festival.
