María de Castro is a Barcelona-based director and screenwriter.

Her debut as director was "Taste" (2016), a short film she wrote, produced and directed, which was shown on digital platforms such as Nowness, obtained a Vimeo Staff Picks selection and was selected for CANIFF and MILANOFFF, won best script at BFFF and was shown at the Flux Screening Series of Los Angeles Hammer Museum.

Since then, María has expanded into commercial directing for brands such as Audi, Volkswagen, FCB, Asus and Vueling.

At present she is developing her first feature film script.
